Submerged Oxygenating Pond Plants
Submerged pond plants compete with algae for nutrients essentially starving the algae and create a well balanced eco-system in your pond or aquarium. They receive nutrients from the water naturally filtering the pond water helping to keep it clear. Also, referred to as oxygenating pond plants, they are very important in creating a well balanced eco-system in your water garden for the fish and other pond inhabitants. Some submerged plants will also grow as emergent plants which are plants that will grow up and out of the water and below the waters' surface. Use one bunch for every 3-4 square feet of surface area. Submerged plants may be planted in a plant basket of pea gravel or weighted.
Most of our Submerged Oxygenating Plants are sold as cuttings in bundles of 5 to 6 Stems per Bunch unless otherwise noted.
