Venus Fly Trap | Dionaea muscipula 'Dente'

$ 14.95

Venus Fly Traps are native to east coast wetlands., They can be found in boggy areas of the Carolinas. Very easy to grow. Plants have green foliage with red throats with trigger hairs. If an insect touches the hairs, the leaves snap shut, trapping the insect inside. It then begins the digestive process. Keep the roots consistently moist and in full sun. Plants go dormant from November to February, when the rays of the sun are lower. (If your plant is kept outdoors, it will attract insects for proper nutrition, if you keep your plant indoors, you will have to provide 'live' insects a few times a month to provide nutrition for your plant.)

Venus Fly Traps are winter hardy in USDA zones 7-10. If protected during the winter it can be grown in zones 5 and 6. It requires high humidity, wet, sandy, humus soil, and sun to partial shade.
