Cattail | Typha latifolia

This is the common cattail you may see growing in marshes and along the banks of ponds or ditches. Cattails gets an astonishing 10' to 12' feet tall and has very large catkins. These can be very invasive in open waters outside a contained pond. For best results plant in a large container to control the spread of rhizomes. Invasive in earth ponds so do not introduce outside a water garden or pond.
