Water Hyacinth | Eichhornia Crassipes
Water Hyacinth will spread across the water garden, providing coverage and shade for the fish, or frogs. Roots absorb nutrients from the water and provide excellent filtration, helping to prevent algae. These plants perform best in full sun, but will tolerate part shade. Water temperatures need to be 65 degrees when adding them in the spring. Water Hyacinth will not survive winter. Replace them annually, for their natural ability to help keep water clear and fight algae.
