Mystery Snail Mix | Pomacea bridgesii | Not Hardy in the North

525

Mystery Snails are also known as Apple Snails. They are great at cleaning algae off of the sides of the pond, rocks and plants. They also eat hair algae. They are safe with fish and plants, and are very peaceful. They will get quite large as adults, growing up to 3 inches in diameter! Mystery Snails are much more active than other types of freshwater snails. They are constantly in search of food.  They will climb up to the water line to breathe air. They have voracious appetites and grow very quickly if they are fed well; a young Pond Snail can double in size in a matter of weeks to months. They are not hardy in cold climates. Ours are Tank-bred in Florida, but are indigenous to South America. We cannot ship Mystery Snails into the States of Arizona, Georgia or Maine. Where water temperatures fall below 65 degrees during the winter months, they must be moved indoors or they will perish in cold temperatures. Cold Climates Spring Summer Shipping Only. Mystery Snails will eat leftover fish/invertebrate flakes and pellets and blanched vegetables such as zucchini, kale, spinach, or cucumber.

Mystery Snails (Apple Snails) – Live Pond Cleaners for Algae Control

Active, Peaceful Snails That Help Keep Ponds Clean and Balanced

Mystery Snails, also known as Apple Snails, are excellent pond cleaners that help control algae by grazing on pond walls, rocks, plants, and hair algae. These peaceful, fish-safe snails are highly active and constantly forage for food, making them a valuable addition to any water garden ecosystem. Growing up to 3 inches in diameter, they are larger and more active than many freshwater snails. Mystery Snails also consume leftover fish food and can be supplemented with blanched vegetables like zucchini, spinach, and cucumber. Tank-bred in Florida, they thrive in warm water but are not cold hardy—ponds with temperatures below 65°F require moving them indoors during winter. Ideal for seasonal use in cooler climates, these snails help maintain a clean, balanced pond environment. Please note: shipping restrictions apply in certain states.
